What sport are you specialised in?

I’m a surf Ironwoman

Can you describe a typical training day?

We usually have a swim set in the morning followed by either a run or gym set. In the arvos we head to the beach for either board or ski. Wednesday and Saturday mornings we get to put everything together in an iron session.

How did it feel to win the Australian Ironwoman titles?

That race has been one of my long-term goals for as long as I can remember so to have achieved it, that moment was just so incredibly special. There were a lot of emotions that hit me all at once, and after my post-race interview, I started balling my eyes out. To have everything come together on that day and be so present throughout the race, I was able to take in the moment and enjoy myself.

Was this the achievement you are most proud of?

Most definitely.

What was it like to travel to Texas for the International Surf Rescue Challenge?

It was so hot! They had to get the fire trucks to hose down the sand on the beach which I had never seen before. The 33 hours of travel was also a killer. But part of international racing and representing Australia is being able to roll with the punches and be adaptable so we made it work.

Tell us about your favourite training session and discipline?

I love iron training. I love the specificity of the session and how the ocean presents its own unique challenges each time we go out.

What is your fav pre-race meal?

The night before racing I like to have something with sweet potato in it. It’s not a superstition, but it has become a bit of a habit and gets me in the ‘racing mood’.

What Kozii do you like to wear?

My two favs are the Elite bind and the Elite X

How do you feel when you wear Kozii swimwear?

I always feel comfortable and confident when I wear my Kozii’s. The styles are great, and the prints are always happy and make me more motivated to train because I know I’ll get to wear them! I’ve been wearing Kozii since the first time I went to NSW state in U8s and bought a pair at the Kozii tent.

What is your favourite thing to do in Kozii Swimwear?

I spend half my day training, and I love that I get to do that in my Koziis

What do you like about the new style the Elite X?

I was lucky enough to be a part of the feedback process when Kozii was designing the Elite X. We added a little bit of length to the straps which I have found to be the best thing about the Elite X. It doesn’t dig in to my shoulders which mean I stay comfortable during long winter training sessions.

Describe Kozii Swimwear in three words:

  • Aussie-made
  • Fun
  • Comfy

How does it feel to fly the flag for Kozii swimwear?

Being supported by an Aussie owned and made company that Kay started out of her garage many years ago is really special. It’s such a great little family to be a part of. I joined team Kozii when I was 15 and I'm so grateful Kay took me under her wing back then and has supported me for so long.
