What sport are you specialised in?

Surf Life saving

Tell us about your favourite training session and discipline?

My favourite session would have to be Saturday Irons because it’s the last session of the week and I feel like the vibe is different. It’s a Saturday morning and there’s some nervous energy going around about what the set is going to be. I also feel that we all push each other right to the end.

My favourite discipline changes 😂 but I have really been enjoying swimming. Putting myself in more challenging situations with surf and changing my training a lot in the pool.

What is your favourite event of the year?

I love the Summer of Surf series.

Going to different beaches across Australia to race, explore the area and have a look in the shops and different cafes.

You won your age group in the Coolangatta Gold. Do you enjoy the longer races and how do you prepare for this?

The Coolangatta Gold is a tuff race physically and mentally. Training for a endurance race takes time and most of all being consistent. Setting little goals and being resilient is important but most of all having a balance between quality training and quality recovering, knowing the difference between pushing yourself to the limits and when you need to have a rest and reset. Preparing for a race like this, you need to have a plan with your coach and a proper nutrition plan for your training and race day. I love taking part of the Coolangatta gold and next year I hope to do the full one.

What do you do to recover?

I have only recently learned how I best recover, and I think it’s a very personal thing. Everyone is different but for me personally, I make sure I go to bed early, drink lots of water and go to the Noosa recovery centre as much as I can. I put on the Normatec boots, sauna, and hot and cold therapy pools.

What Kozii do you like to wear?

Ah, that’s a hard question! I love the patterns for training and going to the beach but with racing, I wear my CT Black Rib Elite - x back one piece.

How do you feel when you wear Kozii swimwear?

I have been wearing Kozii since I started nippers many years ago. I love the thick straps and how they’re more supportive for women with a bigger bust and athletic figure. I also admire how Kozii support the indigenous culture by using their prints on the swimwear and how they work with the community to get their input on the designs. I also love that Kozii swimwear is all designed and made in Australia. I applaud the hard work they put into every pair of togs.

What is your favourite thing to do in Kozii Swimwear?

Sunbathing, Running, Surfing

What do you like about the new style the Elite X?

The colours and fit with a medium coverage on the bum. It’s also a perfect fit for people with broad shoulders like me.

Describe Kozii Swimwear in three words.

Sustainable, comfortable and stylish.

How does it feel to fly the flag for Kozii swimwear?

I feel honoured to be a part of the Kozii team and represent the swimwear with pride. Wearing my Kozii’s every day makes me feel powerful and confident.

I also love that I’m representing all the beautiful women behind the scenes who have put so much effort in creating them.

What Kozii’s do you have in your closet?

My top three most popular one-pieces at the moment, would have to be my Siren Elite-X back, then my Mahalo Elite Bind, then my Harlow Elite bind.

Do you have any words of encouragement for the nippers coming through that are  interested specifically in the endurance races?

While you’re young, just have fun and enjoy racing but most importantly, ask questions!
